GOBOWSKYRECITAL
At the Rialto
This week's attraction at the Rialto
theatre Is a photodrama 'with the Im
press of novelty, namely "Dangerous
Business," iu which Constance Tal
nmdge plays a difficult role. A wish
that is ever present in the heart of n
patron Is at last, to be fulfilled, namely,
to be agreeably surprised and perhaps
a. trifle shocked for the moment. With!
nearly every situation exhausted, the
! play wright of screen, dramas is hard
ptttito invent a new pne, but in ."Dan
gerous Business," Nancy Flave.ll, the
madcap heroine, Is hoist, by her own
petard, and when her "supposed" hus
band orders her to undress and go to
bed, in their bridal suite, she pleads
her unwedded state. . Then, she. dls-
1 robes and. gets into bed while the man
sits on the side of the hed and begins
to undress. No one arrives tp, save
her. You gasp with amazement at the
daring situation. It is the desire of
the management of this theatre to pro
vide strong plays of true " dramatic
worth and in "Daneerous Business" an
j unusual treat awaits. Don't fail to put
i this offering on your screen calendar,
for It is simply too good to miss.
Leopold Godowsky wflo appeared in
recital at the Columbia theater, San
Farnclsco on January .16th, again
proved himself a master pianist with
a superb command of every resource.
He has never played more alluringly,
or with a more subtle appeal to the
aesthetic emotions. He was warmly
eceiyed and was repeatedly recalled
for extra numbers, which were gener
ously given, From tile San Francisco
Chronicle, Jan. 17th.
