The Central Point library is open
to the public on Monday and Thurs
day of each week, hours 2 to D, and
7 to 9 p. m. There aro many good
books in the library and every one
Is entitled to get books, provided he
obeys and follows the rules set down
by all libraries in regard to borrow
ing. Good roading is always a profit
able and enjoyable diversion and
many people will be" very glad to have
the opportunity of getting good liter
ature twice a week at tho library In

clerk In Cowley's Emporium here and
has accepted a position in Medford.
Mr. DavlB was succeeded here by Ray
Henderson, well known to the public
as he filled the same position here
for a few months last summer, and
was known as a very efficient and
popular manager.
Mayor W. A. Cowley spent the
first of tho week with his family
here, returning to his business at
Dunsmuir, Cal., Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Foley and daughter Miss Kath
erlne of Gold Hill were in Central
Point, one day las week.
A large number of people from In
and out of town attended the Decora
tion day exercises held in Central
hall Tuesday afternoon. The pro
gram was appropriate and most fit
ting. Little Francis Faber made her
initial appearance in public on that
day, reciting. In her sweet babyish
voice, a litt'.o piece called "The Flag".
Small Geraldtne Fox again pleased
the audience, as in previous years,
with a patriotic recitation, and many
other children did credit to them
selves In the rendition of their parts.
Reverend D. E. Millard, of .Medford,
outdid himself in a splendid address.
Impressive, eloquent and full of pa
triotism, and greatly enjoyed. The
Ladles' Aid quartet sang two beauti
ful selections and added greatly to
the enjoyment of the day's program.
Wilbur Dunlap of Dunsmuir, Cal.,
spent Sunday with homo folks here.
