All business was suspended for the

pilgrimage to local cemeteries in the
afternoon when the graves of soldier
and sailor dead were appropriately'
decorated.
Shopkeepers closed their doors and
comparatively few were seen on the
streets. Streetcars running to the
cemeteries bore hundreds of families
carrying their lunches, prepared to
spend the beautiful summer day be
side the last resting place of those

Five thousand persons are expected to
