shearing about 1500 sheep at his
ranch near Ashland, the clip of which
ho estimates as around 12,000 or
13,000 pounds. Mr. Hcrrin has on
exhibit threo clips of wool in tho win
dow of Draw's tailor shop which ho
took from some of his flock. One of
these is from a yearling Corridalo
and weighs nine pounds; one from a
two-year-old Corridale weighing 12
i pounds, and the third from a year
old Rumbouillet weighing 18 pounds,.
The latter is the heaviest and finest

'Quito a number of democratic vot
ers in the city amused themselves at
yesterday's election by writing in the
names of republican presidential and
other candidates on their democratic
ballots, which. caused no end of trou
ble and delay in counting and tabu
lating to the weary men and women
on the election boards, who wero on
duty all day yesterday, last night and
until after 8 o'clock this morning. A
number of republicans also amused
themselves by writing in the names
of friends or others as candidates for
constable. ' .
