OLD IE CONCERT
A novel and delightful concert Is
promised by those in charge of tho
entertainment to be given at th
Christian church Tuesday morning,
May ISth, because It is an "old time
concert, in an old time setting," and
delightful because the entire program
consists of those charming old songs
that every one enjoys, given by some
of the best singers in Medford.
H is not a play, but the "old fash
ioned" idea In trie selections is car
ried out in the setting and costumes.
In the parlor of a rural homo, about
the time of the civil wac, the family
and neighbors, who casually drop in
during tho evening, have an evening
of music which becomes tho program
of tho concert. A nominal admission
of 25c is being charged to defray ex
penso and provide a fund for a church
activity.
Mrs. Geo. Andrews will sing "Last
Rose of Summer," "I Dreamt I Dwelt
In Marble Halls," "Lullaby" from
Ermlnie, and other selections. A male
quartet, C. C. McCurdy, J. W. Klrk
patrlck, D. K. Millard and W. Bent
ley, will sing "Carry Me Back to Olo
Virginny." Miss Brail It will sing

program of mixed quartets, duets
piano numbers, and solqs by other

Victor Bursell, the successful far
mer and business man for county
commissioner has been a resident of
Jackson county for the past 37 years.
Has seen and kept pace with the de
velopment of tho valley. He has seen
the roads improved from mere mud
holes over which teams could hardly
pass to their present state.
Ho believes the people should vote
yes for the 4 per cent limitation
amendment so as to provide funds as
needed to complete the Pacific high
way and all work under construction
and thinks wo should vote the county
road bonds so our county court will
be able and ready to cooperate with
the state highway commission and
government in the construction of
roads as planned by the Issue. -
Our present highway commission
does not plan on expending this sum
at once but thru a period of years as
needed, so that the bonds would not
all be sold at one time but only as
required.

The reason why Lydia Pinkham'8
Vegetable Compound is so successful
in overcoming woman's ills is because it
contains the tonic, strengthening prop
erties of good old-fashioned roots and
herbs, which act on the female organ
ism. Women from all parts of the
country are continually testifying to its
strengthening, curative influence, and
as it contains no narcotics or harmful
drugs it is a safe medicine for womtn.
