DANCERS START ACTION OF
BIG NEW WARWICK FILM
A beautiful and extremely novel
prologue is a pleasinff feature of "The
Tree of Knowledge," Itohert W.ii
wiek's latest picture, which is being
shown at the Liberty theatre todav
for the last times. The participants
are Theodore Kosloff, the well known
lttissian interpretive dancer ami
Yvonne Gardelle, also a dancer of
note. In a scttinir representiiiir the
Garden of Eden they enact the mythi
cal storv of the encounter of Adam
and his demon-wife Lilith, who is sup
posed to have inhabited the earth
before Eve was created and to have
tempted the Man as the serpent
tempted the Woman.
The prologue is linked up closely
with the mnin story of "The Tree
of Knowledge" and fades into the ac
tion, which portrays' how a modern
daughter of Lilith lured the Adam of
today and tho dire consequences.
However, there is a silver lining and
the ending is a happy one, thanks to
the courage and resourcefulness of
the hero, played bv Mr. Warwick.
Editor Endorses Film.
Under the heading of "The Theme
and Its Treatment," William If. John
son, editor of the Motion Picture
News devoted a whole page to
"Dangerous Days," giving this pro
duction an endorsement which is, to
say the least, sensational. Here are a
few excerpts on "Dangorous Days"
from ICr. Johnson's Review:
"It is a pleasure ns well as n pol
icy to record on this page, the occa
sional picture which seems to us to
mark a distinct and broad advance
in production. Such a picture is
'Dangerous Days.'
"The theme is a thoughtful one
(he author looked into and under our
social, spiritual mid economic life
the story makes you think it aims
at Ronicthing big.
"First, perfect continuity Ihe
story moves clearly, swiftly and log'
'H' along. The subtitles.
They are exceptionally brief, apt and
strong 'wallops,' every one of them.
"We are glad to cite this picture
as a well-rounded example of the new
kind of picture, the kind the screen
'alls for now. The genuins example
of fewer and better pictures.
"W.M. H. JOHNSON."
Mary Roberts liinehnrt's famous
story "Dangerous Days" opens a
three-day engagement at the Iiialto
theatre tomorrow.
Marauerite Clark Liberty.
Marguerite Clark in "All-of-aSi'd-"
1'cggy" is coming to the Liberty
theatre tomorrow for two days.
Ernest Denny's big stage laugh hit !
At last on the screen and filled with
' eharin of the "loveliest girl in
Pictures." The tale is of nn Irish
lass who married off her mother bv
Pretending to be married herself,
lint I'eggy soon discovered that
'Husband'' was no figure-head and
vn'll sit up and notice the rest! A
Picture sparkling with fun, charged
w'th conflict, dancing with nll-of-a-suddcn
surprises'.
