Five or six hills ot summer
squashes' planted four feet apart in
each direction will produce enough
young tender so.ua.shes for the aver

should bo made a week or two in
advance of planting the seed, a little
well-rotted mnnuro and a tablcspoon
fiil of fertilizer being thoroughly
mixed with the soil of each hill. Plant
about seven or eight seeds to the hill,
covering one-half inch deep. When
Ihe plants are up, thin to three or
four.
Young squash seedlings are some
times attneked by tho striped cucum
ber beetlo but it is an easy matter
to protect a few hills bv covering
each one with a small piece of wire
fly screen. After the plants are 10
Hays or two weeks old this type of
beetle docs not bother them. Summer
Sduashes should always be used when

that it can yet be punctured with the

Could Not Stand Straight
It does not take long, when the
kidneys are out of order and not do
ing their work properly, for poison
ous acids to accumulate in the system
and cause aches and pains. D. C. Da

writes: "I caught cold and it settled
in my kidneys. My back and sides
were so1 lame and sore I could not
stand straight. I used Foley Kidney
Pills with good results and am glad
to testify to their helping power."
