resident of Phoenix, was ono of the
many guesU of the Lincoln hotel.1
Seattle, who escaped with her life
when that big fumily hostelry was de
stroyed by fire early Wednesday mor
ning, but alio lost all her personal
effects. A long distance telephone
message was. received In the city last
night from Seattle stating tlrat liss
Towne was safe, had lost all her ef
fects In the flreand tolling her
friends not to worry. .
Miss Towne had been residing In
Seattle ever since last fall when hIio
received her discharge from the naval
reserve in which she had served all
during tho war. She has boon em
ployed in the city health of lice of
Seattle and had been living at "the
Lincoln hotel for some lime past.

stroyed by fire here yesterduy with a
known loss of four dead. ,

lecturer, who was believed missing
yesterday, wired from Tacoma last
night that he was nafo. '
