Food Is Nl'UITO
BERLIN'. Mar. 15. o world cap
ital probably never before experienced
such a complete paralysis of all its
living; and commercial facilities as
Berlin did today. The hotel Adlon
made heroic efforts to provide food
for the American, British and French
missions and newspaper correspon
dents but it gave up the task at ten
o'clock this morning when the last of
the kitchen force walked out, leaving
foreigners to shift for themselves, it
was a common spectacle subsequent
ly to see frock-coated diplomatists
returning to the hotel from foraging
expeditions carrying brewn paper
parcels, foodstuffs, oil stoves and
other necessities.
Guests of the hotel, warned that
tne water would be shut off at noon,
filled the bathtubs and wash stands
but defective stoppers gradually let
out the precious fluid and the guests
thereafter had to reply on wines and
table water. Men who are usually
shaved by barbers are in an upolo
getlc. mood tonight and if the strike
continues the male population will
soon be bearded.
IF HAIR IS TURNING
GRAY, OSESIIGE TEH
Here's Grandmother's Recipe to
Darken and Beautify
Faded Hair.
That beautiful, oven shade of dark,
glossy hair can only bo had by brew
ing a mixture of Sage Tea and Sul
phur. Tour hair is your charm. It
makes or mars the face. When It
fades, turns gray or Btreaked, Just an
application or two of Sage and Sul
phur enhances its appearance a hun
dredfold. Don't bother to prepare the mix
ture: you can get this famous old
recipe Improved by the addition of
other ingredients at a small cost, all
ready for use. It is called Wyeth's
8age and Sulphur Compound. This can
always be depended upon to bring
back the natural color and lustre of
your hair.
Everybody uses "Wyeth's" Sage and
Sulphur Compound now because It
darkens so naturally and evenly that
nobody can tell It has been applied.
Tou simply dampen a sponge or soft
brush with It and draw this through
the hair, taking one small strand at a
time: by morning the gray hair has
disappeared, and after another appli
cation It becomes beautifully dark and
appears glossy and lustrous. - This
ready-to-use preparation Is a delight
ful toilet requisite for those who de
sire dark hair and a youthful appear
ance. It Is not intended for the cure,
mitigation or prevention of disease. .

When tho kidneys clog you must help

At first you feci a dull misery in the kid

Eat less meat, drink lots of water;
also get from any pharmacist four ounces
of Jad Salts; take a tahleapoonful
in a glass of water before breakfast
for a few days and your kidneys will
then act fine. This famous salts is made
from the acid of grapes and lemon juice,
combined with lithia, and has been used
for generations to clean clogged kidneys
nnd stimulate them to norxuni activity,
also to neutralize the acids in urine, so
it no longer is a source of irritation,
thus ending bladder weakness.
Jad Sulla is inexpensive, cannot in

they sell lota of Jad Salts to folks who
believe in overcoming kidney, trouble

Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets
Are. a Harmless Substitute
Dr7 Edwards' Olive Tablets arc the
result of Dr. Edwards' determination
not to treat liver and bowel complaints
with calomel. For 17 years he used
these tablets (a vegetable compound
mixed with olive oil) in his private
practice with great success.
They do all the good that calomel
does but have no bad alter effects. No
pains, no griping, no injury to the
gums or danger from, acid foods yet
they stimulate the liver and bowels.
Take Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets
when you feel "logy" and "heavy.''

"There are two laws in the human

human will, resolution, education or
