DIED.
HOKK Kllzubeth N. Hoke, wife
of II. K. Hoke, died Friday, Feb. 20,
192IJ, at the Sacred Heart hospital.
Funeral services will be held .Monday
ut 2:30 p. m. at St. .Mark's church.
Interment will he in the Jacksonville
cemetery.
Mrs. Hoke was 31 years of age and
was married to- Mr. Hoke three years
ago next .March. Her maiden name
was Elizabeth Norwood, and she was
tho daughter of Air. and Mrs. John
S. Norwood who have resided here
for the past nine years. Besides her
husband and parents she Is survived
by a sister. Miss Sarah Norwood.
Death was caused by pneumonia
following Influenza: She had only
been ill a week. The pneumonia de
veloped yesterday and she was taken
to tho Sacred Heart hospital in an
ambulance Friday forenoon where
her death occurred early last evening.
A young woman of unusual charm
and attractiveness, .Mrs. iloke will be
missed by a large circle of friends,
while tho sympathy of the entire com
munity goes out to her bereaved husband.
McWILLIAMS in Newman, Calif.,
Feb. 17, 1920, Hugh lOlvidge MeWII
liams, oldestson of Mr. and Mrs. F.
G. McWIlliams, of Ashland, aged 35
years.
"Klvldge," as he was familiarly
known, was born nt Neola. Iowa, in
1SS4, and came to Ashland with his
parents In 1S97, when he completed
his schooling. For a time ho was in
the employ of tho Wells-Fargo Ex
press both in this state and Wash
ington, and later on was connected
with irrigation development work in
southern and central California. It
was while thus engaged, In' the vicin
ity of Newman in that state, that his
death occurred after brief illness. A
Weak heart. Inherited since boyhood,
prevented his entering the military
service. , Anxious, however, tu do his
mite in un industrial way.-he worked

home on Church street, conducted by
