The board of education, realizing
tho difficult situation that would
havo to bo confronted at this time by
tho system and particularly as to the
loss of tlmo by pupils, who would
loso perhaps one-halt' year of work if
tho schools were closed, instructed
Superintendent Davenport to explain
at this time that it would be advis-
ablo to dispenso with all social actlv
itics and gatherings in any way con
nected witli tho schools. The princi
pals were requested to take this mat
ter up with teachers, student bodies
and all other organizations working
with tho schools. This was dono-.in
all the schools, with the result that
a hearty spirit of cooperation was
manifested hy pupils, teachers "and
all other organizations.
It is tho aim of the board of cducn
tion and its employes to tako ovory
precaution and do all In their power
to' assist in solving the present, cpl
demic situation In our city and com
munity, at the same time sensing the
critical condition that would ensue
if our schools were to close. It Is
believed I hat, it such a metlul were
pursued by the many, other organiza
tious in our city and community, in
to social gatherings and activities
that are not so essential, particularly
at this lime when it Is imperative for
the city and community to1 cooperate
In this affair, that is of general wel
fare, tho present epidemic might be
moro readily checked. It Is hoped
that other organizations will ronsid
cr this problem and tako similar ac
tion.

GET FULL IMPLEMENT PERFORMANCE
AVOID THE BIG LOSS THAT IS CAUSED BY USING- EVEN ONE
FAULTY, IMPLEMENT. .
Your farm implements, taken all
together, fornil a great crop-making
machine, each part of which is de
pendent on the other. The whole is
no better than the poorest implement
in it.
I'oor seed bed-making by an infer
ior plow, for instance, will make it
impossible for your planter and culti
vator to give the profit that they
should give.
Likewise, inaccurate planting will
lessen the returns from the best of
seed beds and thorough cultivation.
And a cultivator that will not de
stroy weeds and conserve moisture
without injuring Hie crop plants, cuts
the profit from the use of your other
implements.
Thus it is with pract really every
implement on your farm. Even a
single fault in one implement will
handicap other implements, and
mean the loss of many possible dol
lars in profit from your season's
work.
The purpose of our service to you
is to help you get full performance
from every implement.
AVe carry for your benefit a full
line of implements especially adapt
ed for use in this section. Each of
them, bcaitt a trade-mark that as
sures the best of material and work
manship. With none of them do you
have to run the risk of experiment
ing in your fields of letting one im-r
plcnient handicap the service from
your other implements. Each is tho
successful result of thorough experi
ments carried on by the manufac
turers under a variety of actual field
conditions the same conditions that
prevail on your farm.
Have every implement in your
crop-making machinery fully reliable
this year. Drop in and study the im
plements that we have to help you.
