OBITUARY.
LEU James R. l.ee of Gold Hill
Ore., died nl the Sacred Henri hos
pital in Jledl'ord, .Ian. 20. 1020.
, Jfr. I,ec was about 5-1 years of

in the eilv of Chicago for several
veurs, but on account of poor health
had to give up his position, and ciiine
west. lie was in business in Seattle,
Washington, for a few vears, then
eainc to Jackson county, taking m, n
homestead on Sardine creek, where
. he lias lived ever since.
His death comes as a great
shock to his friends as many never
knew he was sick. He will be great
ly missed, as he made friends where
ever ho went. Mr. Lee was always
icadv and willing to help anv one:
his word was as good as his bond.
His friends spoke of him as Honest
l.ee. He would give his last dollar
to anv one lie thought was in need.
He nlwnvs had a good word and
lilensnnt smile for every one. His
body was laid to rest in 1 lie lioel;
Point cemetery Saturday afternoon.
January III. and while he has no
relatives on this coast, he leaves
manv friends to mourn his loss.

Mrs. Malone, who was the wife of
Jlajor C. A. Malono, died at her home
In Medford, Feb. 4, 1!)2n, after a
short illness. The deceased lived in
Ashland for a number of years and
was well known and greatly beloved
by a large circle of friends. Two
years ago last summer, when her hus
band. Captain Malone of the First
company. Coast artillery, entered the
service, Mrs. Malone and children ac
companied him to the north where

ing the period o'f her husband's ser
vice. On the latter' discharge from
the army they came to .Medford
where they have resided for the past
year. Mrs. Malone is survived by Iter
husband and two young sons, aged

hear of his demise and his cheery

him.
