business stands to the credit of the
local Fruit & Produce association fGT
the year 1913, according to detailed
report of Manager A. C. Ilriggs, lately
submitted. f
Of berries 4 421 crates were ship
ped, Himalaya blacks leading the list,
gooseberries ranking second.
Cherries: G12!t crates, with Koyal
Anns the favorite apparently accord
ing to-'shipments.
'Peaches score 49.7S7 boxes, with
Klbertas way in the lead. This year
Salways outranked the output of
either early or late Crawfords han
dled by tho association.
Of assorted fruits 3733 boxes and
crates were shipped, plums and
prunes leading, although apricots
made an especially ocd showing tills
year.
Pears were reckoned by weight to
the extent of 223,3(19 pounds. Of two
leading varieties liartletts and IVAn
jous scored G9.S02 and (I7.SS0 pounds
respectively. Winter Xelis being third
to the extent of 40,000 pounds.
Of fall and winter apples 20,1 SO
boxes wero shipped, varieties in the
miscellaneous classification.
Assorted vegetables wero figured
in boxes, bunches and sacks, and in
the latter classification over 50,000
pounds were shipped.
About 1000 gallons of cider was
also sent abroad for "irrigation" pur
poses as a sweet by-product.
The tctal number of cars contain
ing fruits and vegetables shipped out
was 91, and the total number of cars
of feed, shook, spray, etc., shipped in
was 30. The management adds to
this statement respecting aggregates,
that In arriving at the given figures,
all local freight and express ship
ments were added to the association's
car lot estimates as given in the fore
going schedules.
In spite of its largo and well equip
ped warehouse, with office annexes,
the association needs more space and
this demand prompted purchase of
the old White Sulphur Springs hotel
building which will he moved from
the premises to afford extensions tc
the main plant.
Tho co-operative feature has been
extended by the association in the
way of handling eggs also. These
headquarters afford a central receiv
ing station where the product may he
handled more expeditiously and
cheaply than under eld methods. The
result is less expense to poultry rais
ers and greater profits. This new
factor in tho poultry industry is giv
ing an impetus to tho shipping of
eggs on a greater scale than ever.
The directorate of the association
Includes J. H. Dill, S. J. Evans, S. A.
i'eters, J. M. Wagner and J. H. San
der. Dill is president; Wagner, vice
president; S. A. Peters, Sr., secretary
and V. O. X. Smith, treasurer. The
manager is A. C. liriggs, whose ad
ministration cf the affairs of the cor
poration insofar as his specific duties
are concerned lias wen merited com
mendation from producer, shipper
and consumer, tho year 1919 having
witnessed the most gratifying results
in the associations histcTy.

Thousands Choose The
Chandler Dispatch V'
MANY admirers of the Chandler Six choose the
Chandler Dispatch. For two years this model
has outsold all other cars of the so-called sport type.
Its popularity is one of the high spots in motordom.
The new series Dispatch is a snappy, handsome car,
seating four adults in perfect comfort. It is of most
beautiful design and finish; mounted on the standard
Chandler chassis, famous for its mechanical excellence.
You are asked to pay much more for cars which
might perhaps be compared with the Chandler. And
cheap cars sell for but little less.
