"Deputy Game Warden Ed Walker
of Medford was In Grants Pass Alon
day and made a visit to the Golden
Drift dam, three miles up the river
from Grants Pass, says the Courier
of that city. "Mr. Walker was in
formed that it is the usual tiling now
for people to fish off the dam under
the impression that it is legal, the
dead line being removed since a por
tion of the dam went out last winter.
Mr. Walker says the dead line, 200
feet from the dam, is still in effect
and it is a plain violation of the law
to fish closer to the dam and warns
all fishermen that violations will be
prosecuted."
