abroad, will be presented to tho con
vention ot tho diocese of Oregon,
which will be held- in' Portland on
Wednesday and Thursday, May 21
aud 22. by the Rev. T. R. Ludlow,
formerly a missionary in China.
Since the preliminary announce
ment ot the plans ot the board ot
misslonB'ot the Episcopal church for
a great awakening to the problems ot
reconstruction, a large majority of
the bishops ot the church have pledg
ed their support to the movement.
The program has been presented to
numerous diocesan conventions In
tho lost few weeks and In every caso
tho response has been emphasized by
the appointment of a campaign com
mittee. It is expected that such a
committee will be organized In the
dloceso ot Oregon as a result ot the
Rev. Mr. Ludlow's address to the
convention. .
The first step ot sucli a campaign
committee would be the compilation I
of the results of an accurate survey'
of the problems ot this diocese. Those
local needs would receive first con
sideration, according to the program
proposea ty tne board of missions in
cooperation with -the board of relig
ious education, the joint commission
on social service and the other agen
cies of the church.

In the house of commons lost
