ed States army will continue to keep
troops in Siberia for some time to
come is seen in the announcement
which has been received by Sergeant
White of the Medford .recruiting of
fice that 8000 soldier recruits are
wanted for service in Siberia. Only

vice and the enlistment is for three
years.

ing a plow drawn by a powerful trac
tor on the irrigation ditch opposite

annual conference Just ended at Ash
land yesterday to replace Rev. Mr.

local church for the past year and

ence to the Northern Oregon confer
ence of that denomination. Mr,
Childs succeeded here a year ago

Heart hospital. May 18, 1919, after
suffering from a stroko of paralysis
nt his home in Talont, Ore., at the
ago of 75 years. Ho wus born In
County A rniuh, Ireland, and immi
grated to Canada at an early ago.
He left Canada about 30 years ago
tor Illinois. He came to the Rogue
River valley about seven years ago
and made his home with his niece,
Mrs. J. W. Bailey in Talont, until his
death. Funeral Bervlccs wore hold at
the Catholic church at 11 a. m. this
morning and the body will bo shipped
to Portland for burial beside his
brother In Mt. Calvary cemetery.
