In France ot Paul W. Robinson, who
was for a number of years a resident
of Medford. , He died at St. Nazaire
of diphtheria and had' been in service
in France for over a year, being con
nected with the. base laboratory of

to his death he had received promo
tion to hospital sergeant. He leaves
a wife to whom he, was married Just
about s month before his departure
for France! ' While in Medford he re
sided with Mr, and Mrs. Harold D.
Foster, the latter being his cousin. '

There seems to be a great awaken
ing among members of the Grizzlies,
who are contemplating the purchase
of a strip of land on the left bank of
Rogue river. Just below Gold Ray
dam. It is about a mile and a half
long, is .very narrow and lies between
the railroad right-of-way and the
river. It is covered with trees and
underbrash and has several fine
camping grounds, besides abundant
spring water and will be visited next
Sunday by club members and their
friends, who who will leave the Com
mercial club at 2 p. m. The club will
provide coffee, cream and sngar and
members are' expected to 'take their
own lunch, which will be served on
the camp ground about five o'clock.

learn that Miss Helehe Casey, for 17
years a clerk" in the Ashland post
office and the oldest clerk there In
point of service, resigned her posi
tion last Friday. Concerning the
resignation the, Ashland Tidings says,
"During the incumbency of her fath
er, J- R. Casey, who was postmaster
for twelve years. Miss Casey was his
valued assistant, and continued with
the present postmaster, E. J. Kaiser,
