taking over the farm of R. M. Conley

the county In the matter and W. A.
Cowley for Mr. Conley, and in. case
these two are unable to agree a third

unable to talk English, and a suspect
ed bootlegger who was arrested on a
train passing thru ?Jed ford last Sun
day morning by Deputy Sheriff Mc
Furson. was placed on trial In Justlco
Taylor's court this afternoon. Mo
Furson claims tltat Fernando was en
route to Portland with a suitcase In
which iWord six quarts of whiskey,
and that ho and an Ashlnnd officer
saw him at that station with the suit
case In charge. The prisoner, thru
James McCanna, another prisoner In
the county 'jail being held to the
grand jury and who acted as inter
preter, testified that he did not own
the suitcase and did not know whose
property it was.
