BOOSTS VICTORY
L
Th6 Mcdford National bank gava
the Victory Loan quota a big boost
Saturday with a subscription of $30,-
, 000, putting Medford over the J200.
000 mark for the week's campaign
and leaving only $60,000 to be raised
in order to go over the top.
, Speaking of the bank's subscrip
tion President W. H. bore said that
he considered the Victory and Lib-
erty bond, securities the very finest
and safest place to invest money. Not
only do. the bonds pay a substantial
rate of Interest but in the case of
hanks that are members of the Fed
eral Reserve banking system Victory
and Liberty bonds provide a security
on which the government will ad
vance the full face amount on a min
ute's notice any time the bank wires
for the money. ', 1
, 'Eagle Point, Butte Falls, Gold Hill
and -Medford are the only districts in
the northern part of the county that
have not reached their quotas and
no doubt these towns will all be well
over the top by the end of the week.
Women Commended . -'
K While the soliciting teams- have
all done good work in the present
campaign it must be said that to the
women workers belong the laurels for
faithful service. Not only have they
worked early and late but in many
cases they have canvassed the same
districts over several times In. order
that every possible subscription might
lie given to the government.
' The two German helmets, specially
made for the German entry ' Into
Paris, that are to be given to the two
largest Individual subscribers, are on
display at the Commercial club.
There' Is yet time for some patriotic
person of means to win one of these
unusual souvenirs. !
