A- STATEMENT
THIS is very embarrassing. "We are in receipt of a
number of requests, at least two of them Ay it h the
mandatory ela use attached, asking that this paper state

leaves no1 doubt that by policy is meant politics, whether
straight Republican. Non-Partisan, Democrat, Socialist,
Prohibition or Bolsheviki. - i
- It would bo' easy to eliminate one or two of these des

political organization, 'we confess we are somewhat at sea
with neither sail nor compass. In fact we can discern ru

seem hopelessly, scrambled, but the entire political atmos

to render any immediate homage entirelv impossible.

v.Wfr admit this confusion is not shared .by eveiyono,
certainly not by our friendly inquisitors. To theiii the
political present and future are as plain as the ears on a
donkey or the trunk on an elephant. They not only know
what the two main political parties stand for now, but
what thev are going to stand for a year or two hence. And
one is -ns 'certainly going to vote the democratic ticket iu
1920 as.the. other tho republican, regardless of nominee,
platform, the League of Nations, reconstruction, single
tax, capital, labor, and a thousand other issues winch un

Where. the two major parties
