- The -Gold- Hill band was honored
last Monday evening by a visit from
Medford in the person of D. E. Mil
lard. For many , years Mr. Millard
has been a band snd orehestni con-
ductor, and is an accomplished muslc
: tan. : At the close of the war he was
musical instructor and choir leader
at the Y. M. C. A. at Bremerton navy
yard. The band here has been strug
gling along for some time without a
' leader and has done remarkably well,
but the assistance of Mr. Millard was
a great improvement. '- The question
as o whether Mr. Millard will be en
couraged to permanently conduct the
local band is now being discussed.

been long closed down and the boys

would like to come home, and expect
to come soon. They have seen nearly
elghteon months of foreign service.

military training in the high schools

southern Oregon during the week ot
April 3 4. He will inspect the organ
izations at Grants Pass, Medford and

burg. Colonel Leader's schedule calls
for addresses at the high schools, to
the commercial clubs and the public,
in each ot the towns. He will be in
Grants Pass April 14, in Medford the
following day, in Ashland "April 16
and in Roseburg April 18. --).
