from Norfolk, Va where he received
his discharge from the naval service
on board tho U. S..S. C. T. Western
Ocean. Ho enlisted as a volunteer
last May with several other boys of
Medford and Cranls pass and on
June 20th sailed out of Portland for
the Hawaiian Islands for a load of
sugar, which tbey took to Philadel
phia by way of the Panama canal. He
has since, made two", trips to France
with provisions and munitions of

Sheriff Terrell left last night tor
Oregon City for the purpose of
bringing bock "Slim" McDonald to
face trial on the charge of passing
forged checks. Tho authorities have
been searching for McDonald ever
since he tied the city last summer
and he was only last week located at
Oregon City. McDonald was former
Janitor at the Natatorium and it is
alleged he passed a number of bogus
chocks on several business men. Once
before he was in trouble with the po
