Lieutenant Jay Gore, who has been
in the service for many months, has
been discharged from Camp Lewis
and is In Eugene visiting fraternity
brothers at the Beta Theta PI house.
Lieutenant Gore left Eugene -with
the 361st ambulance corps, and was
chosen to attend an officers' training
school. It is possible that he will re
enter the university next term. His
home Is at Medford. Eugene -Guard.

noon Miss May Lindley read a paper
on the life of Washington, and ap

Mrs. A. J. Klockor is spending sev
eral days at Grants Pass, having
gone to that city Wednesday.
Chas.' H. Burggraf of Albany, dis
trict deputy for western Oregon of
the B. P. O. E. order and who paid
his first official visit to the local
lodge ot Elks last night, will visit at
Ashland lodge of Elks tomorrow
night. Next week he visits the Kla
math Falls lodge and from there will
go to fraternize with the Marshfleld

a large irrigation project -which is
being projected by his brother. Frank
