Deputy Fish and Game Warden
Dally on Saturday night caught two
boys spearing fish in the ladder at
the Gold Ray dam and placed them
under arrest. The offenders were
Kennett Pellet of Tolo and Robert
Hcrron ot Ashland, both about 16
years ot age, and hence they were
turned over into the custody, of the
juvenile court.

formerly of lied ford, where ho was

Jasper Mendell, . a homesteader
living in the Illinois valley in the
wilds of Curry county, was in Eugene
yesterday on his way to Portland,
traveling on horseback the entire
distance; says the Eugene Guard. He
declares that he has never ridden in
an automobile because they make
him nervous and he likes his horse
a whole lot -better anyway. This is
the first time he has been out of his
cpunty. for 10 years, said Mendell
yesterday. He intends to visit rela
tives in Portland and will make the
return trip in the same manner.

Falls early last evening and the fam
ily will reside at the Hotel Medford

move was made necessary because
now that the Pacific & Eastern rail
road has ceased. running Mr. Mills'
headquarters will be In Medford at
least until the railroad outlook is
definitely settled.

The remains of Mrs. James Leslie
who died at Portland last Friday in
the Good Samaritan hospital, arrived
in the city Sunday morning accom

and sister of Mrs. Leslie. Mr. Leslie
arrived in Portland Friday night,
took a taxi to the hospital and reach
ed his wife's bedalde three minutes

and daughter. Miss Cora, will arrive
