Davenport who Is recovering from a
flu, relapse will not be able to take

Despite the fact that only 1919
automobile license tags should 'ap
pear on cars beginning with .New
Year's day it would not take a close
observer to notice that many Medford
machines are not so equipped. While
It is unlawful to use the old year's
tags after January 1st, it is seldom
that any one is arrested for having
an old tag on a car until a reasonable
time; has; elapsed after the first of
the year. This is due to the state
automobile department not being
able to handle the crush of applica
tions for licenses that come In near
the close of the year.

Lleutonant V. T. Beverldge who is
temporarily stationed at Grldley,
Cal., he writes that both he and Mrs;
Bevertdgo aro recovering from severe
attacks ot the flu. They are longing
for the time when they cun return to
Medford and are rejoicing that both
their sons escaped unscathed in the
fighting in France.

was butchered on the Roberts ranch,

here until he hears from Mrs. Hater
who has been sick and had to have
her tonsils taken out.
