To the Public: I wish to endorse
what my ministerial brethren have
already said In behalf of tiro United
War Work campaign. In' "addition
let mo say that I have subscribed to
the idea, "It Is the people's war,"
and that we are all enlisted to make
the world safe for demorcracy. ,1
have been urged to say not that, "We
have an army," but "That we are an
army." While many of ns have been
deprived of the ' privilege of being
"somewhere In France," yet we hav
felt the thrill of going "over the top,"
In every appeal that has come to us
with the sanction of our government.
It has been a real joy to back up our
boys in every way. Because ot our
universal participation we ara shar
ers In tho celebration of tho signing
of the armistice which we believe
will bring peace. None of our boys
has, as yet, received and honorable
discharge from service, and I cannot
conceive that any of us would grant
ouroelves one, if that wero possible.
