WITH THE AMEWCAN FORCES
IN KHACK. Cictober . (Corres

was three American urivntcs who
gave the Freneli civilians of the Ger

within n few minutes news spread
ninoni; tlio 700 civilians' that the
Americans were there and men and
women nnd children came in droves
from cellars where thev had been

The offensive of I he First Ameri

mornimr nnd it was Saturday after
noon when the wenrv Americans
reached Tliinueourl, hungry nnd fu

As the Americans nnured into the
village nnd the French realized more
and more that again Thiaucourt had
eomj into her own men stood in the
streets and cried openly and women
sat about on doorsteps and bits of
wreckage caused hv shells and wept
iiiitil near exhaustion. And in (he
confusion the children cheered, hut

and kissed the hands of the officers

From, the time the Germans reach

until a few days after the village had
been retaken hv American troops the
civilians were entirely without fresh
meat of anv kind excepting now nnd
then a chicken or a rabbit which were
raised without the knowledge of the
Germans. All the cattle in the re

The youngster's idea of "goodies
made with Kreani Krisp is to get his
hands on them. Mother's idea is to use
nothing but Kream Krisp for shortening
and frying. She said so at the last meet
ing of her cooking club. That the mem
bers unanimously adopted her idea is
evident by the following endorse
ments she has received from them:
"Kream Krisp is the most economical shorten
ing on the market."
"In all my recipes I use less Kream Krisp than
I ever did butter or lard, and get more satisfac
tory results."
"I can always depend on my baking being suc
cessful because measurements with Krcc.rr. Krisp
are accurate, making the results uniform and sure."
"I am for Kream Krisp because it doesn't smoke
up or leave any odor in my kitchen."
"I use my Kream Krisp again and again, because
no matter what I fry in it, it doesn't absorb the
flavor. And after straining it I can put it back
into the can as good as new."
"I don't think I could make creamy, fluffy cakes
or rich,f laky pie crust without using Kream Krisp."
Try Kream Krisp today, and your own uses of
it will O. K. these endorsements.
