May 14. 191S: "Senator Mi-Nary lias made a good
record duriu his lirief term of offiee, lias supported
the president in his war polii-ies, and been active in
Oregon's interest."
OSWALD WEST SAID, at the time Charles L.
McNary was appointed Tinted States Senator:
"If Ihe pledges he (Senator Mi-Xary) lias made
to the people are kept, and I am sure they will be, he
will unuestionahy be returned to the Senate in the
next general election.''

tional Prohibition Amendment to the legisla
tures of the several states. He also voted and
worked fnr Xational Equal Suffrage and has
introduced a bill fixing the prices of many
essential commodities thereby preventing
profiteering. lie has been a friend of Soldiers
and Sailors. With a view to their future, wel
fare he introduced a bill granting them pref
erential rights to homesteads and favors the
preferential emplovineiit of soldiers and

DENT'S WAR PROGRAM.
OSWALD WEST SAID, on April 29. 1918, in a
public statement, proposing that all candidates for
