BALL OF FIRE
AT CENTRAL POINT
Residents" and visitors In Central
Point und vicinity who were not
frightened .Monday night over seeing
a queer acting light In tho Bky felt
at least a little hit creepy. There
has heen much comment since over
what was seen and many exaggera
tions are In circulation.
It was about 9:30 p. m. when a
stroak of fire, at first thought to be
a meteor, was Been in the air about
threo miles west of Central Point.
Then the streak seemed to split In
two, part of It ascending upwards
out of sight and the other part drift
ing downward until it reached earth
In a yard on the outskirts of Central
Point.
Among ihpse who witnessed tho
strunge sight were Ernest MeKee of
Hubbard Bros.' store in this city.
and Mr. Nelson, traveling agent of
the John Deere Plow company. They
report that some members of a
threshing erew returned that night
from Central Point and stated that
tho "shooting star" had fallen In a
yard In the outskirts of Central Point
and proved to be a partially burned
piece of rope.
The general Impression now seems
to be that some one sent up a kite
and before starting It heavenward
had set fire to It. Then on reaching
a great height the burning kite kept
on going and the strand of rope,
burned off from the kite, descended. '
But the occurrence caused many wild
stories to be started, including the
resurrection of that peaceable old
aeroplane that- was supposed to lurk
In Ihe country back of Roxy Ann last
spring.
It Is said that one Central Point
woman claimed that she watched the
burning light in the sky thru strong
field glasses and not only distinctly
saw the wings of an aeroplane but
saw a bomb dropped from It.
Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Klme left
today for Goshen, lnd., and othor
oastern points to visit relatives and
friends. They will stop off at San
Francisco for a week's visit, and ex
pect to be gone about two months.

Catarrh is a Real Enemy 1
and Requires Vigorous Treatment
Do Not Neglect It.
When you use medicated Bprays,

same thing over and over again.
Catarrh has never yet been cured
