"Wo look for nn unusual amount
of automobllo traffic at Crater Lake
this season," said Alfred Parkhurst,
the prcsidont and general manager of
the Crater Lake company today. "As
to train travel patronage we have no
means of knowing or even guessing
yet as to what It Will amount to, but
aro confident that It will equal that
of last season, which was not vory
hoavy. However, tho unusually early
spring will greatly Increase the atten
dance." Mr. iparkhurst with his daughter
and several guests and a number of
employes for tho Crater Lake hotel
concessions arrived In tlio city Sun
day evening from Portland. They
camo on a big auto truck and two
passenger cars; having left Portland
Saturday morning at 4 o'clock. The
party will leave for the lake Tuesday
morning and will at once open the
Anna Springs camp hotel at head
quarters and the loego Hotel at tho
rim of tho lnke.
Theodoro Schwnnon of San Fran
cisco, a hotel man of exceptional abil
ity will be In charge of the lodge this
season. He will arrive in the city
Tuesday morning.
Mr. Parkhurst announces that two
new 16-passenger White auto busses
of the national park type will be op-
crated between Medford and Crater
lake this year during tlie season. The
16-passenger car which operated on
this run last year will run between
Kirk on tho Klamath sido and the

commissioner, will depart for the
