Thai Kolb and Hill, California's
two popular Dutch dialect comedians,
are now appearing in the most
screamingly humorous ot nil their
productions; has been most convinc
ingly attested by San Francisco llie-
iitergoers who for the past fourteen
weeks have been laughim; "The High
Cost of Loving"" to a rccord-brenk-iii)f
run. So successful has been the
engagement in the metropolis that nt
the conclusion of their fourteen solid
weeks, the irresistible funmukers had
played to 15(1,00(1 San Franciscans
or 2 per cent of the entire popula
tion of the Bay ('it v.
"The High Cost of Loving-," as has
been unanimously agreed by lit
drama critics, suits Kolb and Dill far
better than any of their former of
ferings. It is a three-net farce with
musical trimmings, in which domes
tic entanglements piic up with such
rapidity that one laugh has scarcely
died uway before another is rucking
the theater.
As usual, the comedians have sur
rounded themselves with a support
ing company of exceptional uhility.
The principal supporting roles are in
the very cupnble hands of Julia
Mane, May Cloy, Henry Simmer, A.
C. Van Slyke, llonora Hamilton, Lu
cille Chall'ant. Then, of course, there
is a bevy of most attractive singing;
girls, each of whom is n soloist.
One of the bright features of the
show is supplied by the Kolb and Hi
"surprise" orchestra, which travels
with the company nnd offers ninny
novelties in a musical way.
"The High Cost of Loving" is to
piny the l'ngo IJicater hero Wudncs
