The buzz of the saw and dull thud
of the ax reverberated all over town
on Wednesday, and some even say
that chips from the Hodgson wood
lot southwest of town fell on the
plaza. It was all occasioned1 by a
band of faithful workers from the
Methodist church, who Volunteered to
cut the, winter's supply of fuel, inas
much as the standing timber was, do
nated by W'. D. Hodgson. D. L.
Glenn cruised the tract and Pastor
Douglas, keyed the saws to the prop
er pitch. Others did the actual work,
while J. R. McCracken made the cof
fee and Ralph Billings poured. If
will be several days before the actual
output of wood, as measured by tiers,
will be determined, it being "mine
run."

of string beans. A box of pieplant
was also sent along by way of va
riety. Shipments are madq regular
