Long auto touring trips are not al
ways so joyous as tbey appear to be
to outsiders, according" to two tour
ing parties, who left Medford this
forenoon after a day's visit here. So
much .sight-seeing taken together
with so much auto riding palls on the
participants after a week or two and
they begin to long for home and the
dally prosaic sights of their home vicinities.

have been touring since July 3,, hav

big Packard town car. Ever
since we left wo have driven in our
car on an. average of 100 miles a

at the Hotel Holland. "Now we are
tired out, ln'fact, feel so tired and are
so anxious to get home that we will
not go to Crater Lake, but will con
tinue direct: on our way, going by
way of San Francisco."
Mr. Kirkland's hands are calloused
and blistered from tho many days of
car driving.
Tho other tired out auto tourist
party Is not so surfeltod with sight
seeing and car riiilng, but that they
ca'n yet visit Crater Lake and the
Klamath country. But they are near
er home. They have been touring a
month nnd have already traveled 2,
200 miles, visiting Oregon and Wash
