the Industrial Workers of the World
have prevented North Dakota from
doin her full share toward filling the
ranks of the regular anuy, accord
ing to a stutement made here today
by Lieuttmnnt William Anshclm,
chief recruiting officer for North
and South Dakota. Lieutenant Ans
lielin also declined that the influence
of the I. W. W. had hindered some
what recruiting in South Dakota. A
marked change in sentiment, how
ever, the officer declared, would re
sult when the first drafted men arc
called into the service.

WATKRMAN Mrs. Jane Water
man, a well-known resident of Phoe
nix, died August 9 ut 2 p. m. ut her
home in that town. She was 71
years, 10 months and 3 days old.
Funeral services will be held Sunday
at 2 o'clock in tho Presbyterian
church ut Phoenix, with Uev. Mr.
Huiley officiating. Mrs. Waterman
is survived by six children, who are:
