SENTjra PRISON
Sum Slide nnd W. K. Collins, the
Phoenix postoffice burglars, were
found guilty of this burglary nnd of
an attempted burglary of the post
office at Kiddle, Ore., nt their trial
in United States court in Portland
this week. This news was brought
back to the city by the Medford wit
nesses who testified in the trial of
the Phoenix case.
Collins and Slide, it will be re
membered, were arrested here short
ly after the Phoenix burglary and
were later indicted by the jrrand jury.
At their trial in criminal court, how
ever, the case ntminst them was dis
missed because of a technical flaw in
t he indictment. The criminals hur
riedly left the city and the next heard
from them was their arrest in Kid
dle for attempting to break into the
pestoffice in that city.
In federal court it was hrouht
out that Collins hail served terms for
burglary in the Colorado, San Q'.ien-
tin and Walla Walla penitentiaries,
and Slide, terms in the Walla Walla
and 'San Quentin penitentiaries.
