JEROME, Arli., July 10. Hun

dles, started at sunrise today to
clean" the town of agitators whom
they considered undesirable, as the
result of a strike called Friday by the
Metal Miners branch of the Indus
trial Workers of the World, which
members of the International Union
repudiated. No violence has been reported.
Most or the Industrial Workers of

PRESIDENT SMS
PORTLAND, Ore., July 10. -For
his own protection, as well as to fa
cilitate the progress of the draft,
every man in Oregon who registered
for military service Ehould make it
a point to learn the new number of
his registration card.
These new numbers are different
from those on the green (or blue)
registration certificates.
True, he number' on a man's cer
tificate is the same as that written
on his registration card, at the time
he registered. But under orders
from the war department, the num
bers of all cards have been changed
in the past two weeks.
The new numbers are written on
the cards in red Ink. They run by
counties, instead of only by precincts.
The county will be the unit of the
draft and hese new numbers are to
be used In the drawings.
The first drawing wil be made at
Washington within the next few
days. The numbers drawn will he
announced to the prees and also tele
graphed to the adjutant general.
The adjutant general will consult the
files in his office, which contain du
plicates of all the registration cards
from the state, ascertain the names of
the men belonging to the numbers,
and notify the county boards.
These county boards will mall no
tifications to the men who have been
called In their respective counties.
These notifications will direct them
to appear for physical examination at
a date set, which must be within sev
en days.

A WOMAN'S VOCATION
One of our modern writers has said
A woman is as efficient in business
as a man when she is."
The reason why sometimes she is
not so efficient is that her health may
fall. But the wise business woman
knows now what to do when attacked
by the ailments peculiar to the so-
called "weaker sex." That greatest
of all remedies for woman's Ills, Lydia
E. Plnkham's Vegetable Compound
has been freeing women, from such
ailments for forty years. Try it, if
ou suffer from such an ailment, and
insure your competency and efficien
cy in the business world. Adv.
