auto accidents In Ashland yesterday
duo to the crowded condition of traf
fic there and to Inexperienced drivers
of many cars. .No one was Injured
and the accidents for the most part
resulted In broken wheels and fenders
and scratches. No accidents were re
ported on the Pacific highway last
night altho from 10 o'clock on till
morning there was a continuous
stream of cars returning to Med
ford. It Is estimated that there were
about 1200 cars ill Ashland yesterday.

The special train of the Al Jolson
theatrical company which shows at
the Page theater tonight, arrived In
the city late this afternoon from
Portland. The special car of Jolson,
tho popular comedian, Is one that
was used by Theodore Roosevelt when
the latter was president. The com
pany leaves during the night tonight
for San Francisco.
There will no meeting of tho Girls'
Honor Guard chapter tonight.

plant yesterday an employe named
Reed who was Inside of ono of the
gas making machines cleaning It out
was so badly overcome by the gas
fumes that ho was barely able to
crawl out. His condition was ser
ious for a time and he was carried
to his home-near. by where ho was at
tended by Dr. E. II. Porter. It will
be several days yet before Mr. Reed
is fully recovered.
