Don't Overheat Your Battery
In summer, when you're not using your lights a
great deal and wheu the motor starts easily and
quickly be careful that you do not overfeed your
battery.
Overfeeding means overacatlng, and continued
overheating means the ruin of tlio Imttery.
When you're touring, or running your machine
a great deal, take the battery's temperature occa
sionally, and if it is getting up to 100 degrees and .
over burn all the light until it has cooled down.
Or if you haven't a thermometer, let us take
your battery's temperature.
Next time you're near, come In our battery ex
perts will be glad to explain overheating thoroughly.
Ask for tho Wlllard Booklet "Are You Overheat
ing Your Battery."

Navy blue veils, with groups of .red,

trimmed with gold braid and make
quite a serious appeal to the woman
who affects army togs.
Instead of leather leggings or put

skirts. The stockings are'to be had
in all of the attractive Scotch plaids

NOW WEEK," THAI
OF JULY 1 TO 8
When President Wilson wroto n
N'ew York business man "This Is not
only a time to allow any slowing up
of business, but is a time when every
sensible process of stimulation should
be used," the automobile and allied
industries decided that meant them,
too. .
They figured It out this way: Hero
you are, (an average read of automo
bile news in these columns. You have
the money to buy a car, either a now
one, or a partly used car. You really
want that car want It badly, for the
pleasure and health It will bring you
and your family, for its convenience!
or possible for business ubo as well.
You're weary of walking, or de
pending on friends for lifts. Or you
now own an older model (which, con
fidentially, has an enormous appetite
for gas, tires, oil and new parts)
and you want a bettor car as your po
sition demands. And a newer car.
you rightly figure, will cost much
less for upkeep.
The auto folks know about you
and know that you're hodllng back
without any logical reason. For you
know as well &s they that business tq
going to keep good, unless every one
does like you and just "holds back."
Sunday, July 1, to Sunday, July 8,
inclusive, has been set aside as "Buy
Your Car Now" week. The roads are
now in good shape almost every'
where. The belated summertime Is In
our midst and the call of all outdoors
Is very very Insistent. Four of the
best motoring months on the calem
dar. are ahead. . So "Buy Your Car
Now" week Is a very timely prelude
to the enjoyable months ahead of you,
(Buy your car now be happy In
those ploasures1 1t brings you and
content in the thought that you did
right by putting the cost of tho car
back into circulation, where It will dq
the country the grentest service.
