Looks like the Ashland Rogue River Roundup and An
nual Hyiu Hehe was going to be the biggest thing ever
staged in the west. Besides hundreds of cowboys "4
cowgirls from Pendleton, northern California and the Kla.
math country, they have captured the six world champioa
ridersTbulldoggers and ropers. ..They have congregated
over two hundred head of the wildest bucking and roping
stock to be had. Some of the horses so wicked that no
cowboy has ever been able to stick to them, even by pull,
ing leather. ..This year the relay races will far exceed any.
thing before attempted. There are six champion strings
of rangy racers, including the famous Roy Anderson string
from Los Angeles, Del Blanchett's champion string from
Pendleton, Doc Helms' string and the Murphy yrize
winners. .All of them going for the money will present
the greatest relay contest ever staged. -J
Ashland is an ideal spot for such a show. The city
has just expended over two hundred thousand dollars de.
veloping the mineral waters and improving one of the
finest natural parks on the coast. It is a good place to
take the wife and kiddies on the Fourth. There will be

The advertisers on this double-page
ample entertainment for them, swimming in the warm
sulphur plunges, playing at the big modern children's'play
ground, witnessing the dazzling parades and the greatest
display of firewrofks ever shown outside of the exposition
grounds. ..The big musical attraction will be the Portland
police Band the one chosen by Sousa to play in the
massed band concert at the exposition. It will give con
certs in the big new auditorium on the evenings of July
3 and 4, besides five other bands giving good music in pa
rades. Ashland says it is prepared to entertain eighty thou
sand visitors this year, and at present writing it looks like
it would get the chance. We are told there is ample room
for two hundred automobiles in the camp grounds and
roonj for hundreds more along shady Ashland creek.
There will be special trains from Portland and Marsh
ftald, the Marshfield train picking up cars from Eugene
south. Local excursion trains will be run from all south
ern Oregon and norther California points as far south as
Sacramento.
Get ready. The overflow from Ashland will fill every
hotel and rooming house in Medford for the three days.
