One of the season's festivities
took laee Wednesday afternoon

M. E. church of Medford, Ladies'
Aid, met at the home of Mrs. Man
ning, 720 Weleh street. The house
was elaborately deeorated with roses
of every kind and eolor. There were
30 ladies and quests present. The
business was dispensed witli and the
entertainment hean with the roll eall
uoini; answered in rhyme, composed
by each member about roses or spring,
then n rose was pinned of each one.
The company assembled nnd a picture
was taken by 5frs. Luan. A program
followed with singing America and
The Star Spangled Banner; readings
v given by Mildred Jenkins, Saloma
Stillwell, Mcsdames Maserve, Ilally,
Carrol, Jirown nnd Manning; a rose
game and guessing contest was car
ried out witli Mrs. N. J. Wiley re
ceiving the prize. Delicious refresh
ments were served nnd all enjoyed
the afternoon and Mrs. Manning's
hospitality.
A jolly bunch of boys comprising
the Live Wire orchestra met Monday
evening with Attorney nnd Mrs. IT. A.
Cnnaday and gave a musical fare.

the World held a splendid meeting
last Wednesday night. . One new mem
ber was introduced into the older
nnd eight, applications for mcinher-
hip were voted on and accepted.
At the close of the meeting District
Manager J. W. Kennedy and Mrs.
Kennedy served dainty refreshments
which were thoroly enjoyed by oveiy
member present. Neighbor Kennedy

here at present and meeting wilb
splendid success. He expects to re
main here several weeks yet and has
announced that he and Mrs. Kennedy
will serve refreshments each meeting
night, while in Medford. Those fail

written statement to tho el't'eet that,
the Chevrolet "four-ninety'' inoilel,
operated by the firm, is averauini;

Tho figures were obtained by taking

and out of the city, which averaged

o'clock until 7 o'clock p. m. at the

will be elected for a term of three

this election and it Is very important
that this interest he shown by a large
vote. A committee representing the
five parent-teacher circles, the Great
er Medford club, the Wednesday
Study club, and the College Women's
club has endorsed J. C. Mann and Dr,
h. G. Riddle as candidates for the
two new membors of the school board.
The committee hopes that all of the
members of those clubs will support
these candidates.
