NEW YOllK, May 22. Tho Amer
ican Museum of Natural History an
nounced today that It would send
forth R third relief ship In search of
tho Crocker Land expedition which
has been marooned In the Arctic since
1918. The steamship Neptune has
lieen chartered for tho purpose and
will bo commanded by Captain Robert
A'. Hurtlott, who was with I'eary on
his Arctic expedition. Tho Neptune,
which is In tho service of tho British
government na a coal carrier, Is ex
pected to sail northward about July 1.

Since- tho news was published that
tho war department would organize
and equip a forestry regiment for
early field service In France, Super
visor M. I Krlckson In common with
other forestry officers turnout tho
county has received many Inquiries
from prospective applicants. Super
visor Krlckson Tuesday recolved the
following information about tho pro
posed regiment from Oeorgo II. Cecil
of Portland, tho district forester:
"A regiment of men for immediate
service In Krunco will bo organized
by the forest service under the direc
tion of tho war department. ThlB
regiment Is planned to assist In for
est work in France, and will also con
duct logging and niilliitg operations.
Portablo mills probably will bo used
as they can be quickly taken from
place to place as need develops or as
supply of logs requires. The regi
ment will be comprised of foresters,
logging engineers, experienced woods
men, loggers, and men of similar ex
perience and training. This body of
men will form a unit of the engineers'
corps of which tho railroad workers
are a part.
"Particulars will follows as they
aro received.
"Kindly advise all technical forest
ers, loggers, woodsmen, portable saw
mill operators and others having ex
perience In lumbering that while do
tails of the proposed organization
havo not been received, the district
office will keep applicants informed
of developments, and preliminary
blanks for statement of qualifications
to servo In this regiment can be ob
tained in application in person or
writing to tho District Forester, Port
land, Oregon."
