Al G. Barnes, the owner of the big

exhibit here on Wednesday, is con
sidered by the fruit exchanges in Cal
ifornia (where tho show has winter
quarters) us being the largest single
consumer of fruit juices in tho west.
Fruit juices hnvo been adopted as
animal "Mullen's Food" for their
htijro animal circus and Mr. Barnes
is most enthusiastic over the intro
duction and substitution of fruit juic
es on I ho menagerie menu.
During the t'rniuing period, from
December to March, when the circus
was in winter quarters nt Venice,
California, 117,11'Jli gallons of fruit
juices were cousumcd by the nnimnls
of the Barnes' aggregation, both her
baceous nnd carnivcrous.
Louis Roth, the chief trainer, had
been experimenting; for the past eight
years to find a substitute for the
distasteful laxatives which it was nec
essary formerly to give the animals
during tho I n in iiur period. After
trying everything in the regular ani
mal medicine chest, linth hit UKn
tho plan of fruit juices, which lie
found to contain ndmirable nutri
ment, as well as laxative qualities.
Since then ho has made u table
which is pasted in each cage, stating
the kind and amount of fruit juice
necessary fur the good health of a
givenitype of animal.
I'pon liis arrival ill Bedford, Mr.
liolh will sample Die fruit products
here to ascertain if they have any
added nutriment value.

Bevo that has won this success. That
. something is not the shape of the bottle or
the beauty of the label but the goodness of
the contents of the bottle.
We anticipate some beverages will be offered
in a way to make the appearance of the pack
age look as much like the Bevo bottle as
possible. The intention is obvious.
But you don't taste the shape of a bottle it's
the flavor of the contents of the bottle that
you must depend upon for enjoyment.
Then beware of impersonators don't be
satisfied to try to identify Bevo by the shape
of the bottle alone
There are these certain identification marks that are your protection against imitations. Not just imitations of the product,
remember but those more insinuating imitations which try to deceive you by putting an old failure into a bottle similar
to a new success. So look for these unmistakable marks o the genuine Bevo demand that the bottle be opened in front

We make a prediction watch for its fulfil
ment. For some years, various and sundry
concerns have been making beverages which
are grouped under the- general description of
"near-beer."
Now comes Bevo a cereal beverage, not a
"near-beer," nor do we seek its sale on any
basis of being an evasion of the law or of
being a substitute for anything. It is offered
purely for what it is a delightful, wholesome
and nutritious drink.
Bevo met with instant and complete success.
A whirlwind success.
