X. C. Maris, field worker In the
state department of education, to
gether with Rural School Supervisor
Peterson has heen at work among the
Jackson county schools all this week
in inaugurating and carrying on In
dustrial club work among the school
pupils.
Patriotism is now the dominant
note in this campaign, combined with
the original idea of teaching the pu
pils the dignity and usefulness of
work, and tho popularizing of farm
work especially. The industrial club
organization idea has now been
broadened to Include food prepared
ness. In patriotic talks at various schools
Messrs. Marls and Peterson have in
stilled Into tho pupils the Idea that
each one can do his or her hit in this
war with Germany by raising some
tiling in the food line, either by plant
lng and cultivating a small garden or
large patch of ground, or by raising
poultry or pigs. The speakers used a
steriopticon with appropriate slides
to Illustrate their talks.
.Among the schools visited this
week were tho following: Phoonix,
Talent, Wagner Creek, Bellview,
Agate, Rees Creek, Brownsboro, An
telope, Eagle Point, Ruch, Union
town, Bear Creek, Applegate, Provolt,
Murphy, Missouri Flat and Jackson
ville. Mr. MariB said Friday afternoon
that the campaign has so far done
much good In Interesting the children
to take an active part in the food pre
paredness efforts. The speakers
dwelt especially upon the necessity of
farm work and productiveness as of
almost equal Importance in the war
with Germany as actual fighting at
the front.

Let folks step on your feet hereafter;

to this Cincinnati authority.
He says that a few drops of a riruR
called freezone, applied direcily upon
a tender, aching corn, instantly re
lieves soreness, and soon tho entiro
corn, root and all, lifts rijiht out.
This dru is a sticky ether compound,
but dries at once and simply shrivels
lip the corn without in(lamiii: or evon
irritating the surrounding tissue.
It is claimed that a quarter of an
