War be tween the United States and Germany becomes an actuality today immedi ately upon President Wilson's approv al of the war resolution adopted by a vote of 373 to 50 by the bouse a, few minutes after 3 o'clock this morning. It declares that a state of war exists and directs the president to employ all the naval and military forces of the United States and resources of the govern ment to carry on war to a successful conclusion. Among the fifty who voted against war were thirty-two republicans, six teen democrats, one socialist and one prohibitionist. Voting affirmative were 193 democrats, 177 republicans, two progressives and one independ ent. Democratic Leader Kitchen and Miss Jeannetto KunUIn, the new wo man member from Montana, were two of thoso who ;voted negatively.
