A British destroyer and a merchant vessel were sunk and another destroyer was dam aged in the German naval raid at lianisgate, the admiralty announced today. The official statement follows: "Enemy destroyers shelled the un defended watering place of Ramsgate on Saturday night. ' They retired hurriedly before our local forces and escaped in the darkness. It was not possible to ascertain the damage in flicted upon them.
