J. S. Crawford of Talent has a fine

flock of S. C. White leghorns. He
advertised bis eggs for sale in three
different papers in the valley. From
the Mail Tribune ad he realized $40,
and not an inquiry from any of the
other papers. His flock appears to he
one of the best In his part of the
country. During the month of Feb
ruary from 13'0 hens he averaged
14 1-3 eggs per hen. The usual av
erage production is about 8 eggs per
lien. 'These eggs he sells for 75c per
setting or $4.00 per 100.

the last Saturday issuo of the- Jack
sonville Post, written by Henry Hoof,
a former Jacksonville boy. Mr.
Hoef is a marine on the U. S. Charles
ton and tells of the thorough precau
tion used in guarding the Panama
canal.

bedsido of his daughter, Jauunosso.
The entire nelghbrohood was dep
ly saddened Over the sudden death of
little Jauniiesse Holts Saturday
night; Just vithln a short time after
hope was entertained for her recov
ery. Being taken so surrenly by
pneumonia from the midst of home,
school and neighborhood, It was a
severe blow to all. Little Jauniiesse
was much loved for her willing, cher
ful disposition and her sunny smile
will long be remembered. Our deep
est sympathy Is extended tho sadden
ed parents- over this great loss.
