WAiJHINGTON. March 12. Since
the home gardening movement begun
throughout the country as a n-ans
to meet the increased cost of food,
the department of agriculture has
been swamped with hundreds of thou
sands of requests for free seed.
Officials of the department say
that unfortunately they have no seeds
to distribute. The free seeds provid
ed by congress are distributed as
members of congress themselves di
rect and this year's supply of about
$20",noo worth was long aao ex
hausted. Xo more free seeds will be avail
able until lut in the summer.
