The first half eloped with the seoro
standing 14 to Li in favor of the vis
itors, the slight lend lieiu-r dni to the
uhility of .Millard (irnhh of A-liland
to convert fouls into score.
The se'ond half opened with a rush,
the locals endeavoring to regain the
lead. Ashland, however, liy a series
of clever drihbles and horseshoe shots
hy Millard Oruhb succeeded in in
creasing the dead by threo baskets.
For a time .both teams slackened
speed.
hi the last few minutes of plav the
Ihienjvof the Med ford team was shift
ed and the locals scored two baskets
and a couple of fouls which Ashlnnd
promptly matched. The whistle blew
with Ashland five ooinls iu the lead.
The star for Ashland was Millard
Cirnhh, who covered Ids opponent ef
fectively iu defense nnd was a whirl
wind on offense, scoring practically
all the baskets for the visitors.
Williamson nnd Oimstuad starred
for the locals, the former playiny; a
strong defensive game in addition to
anuexiiuf most of Medford's points,
Olmstcud, who heretofore has not
been thought to have the stuff for big
yumes, redeemed himself with a
vengeance, mixing it with men great
ly his superior in weight.
The game wns in manv spots rough,
both teams sending their opponents lo
the floor at numerous times. Jones
of Med ford was particularly unfor

every scrimmage.
liv a comparison of scores, Med
fonl seems to have the edge on Ash

having defeated them to 24.
