To tho People of Medford:
As a one half stock owner in our
local cunnery which seems to be
ubout the only real manufacturing
Industry Medford has at present, tho'
others have been promised since me
dieval times,' I am deeply concerned
as to Tuesday's voting. Both as to
mayor and the city debt solution.
I am concerned only because I am
a former easterner and In thrpo years
time on this coast have come to love
Its people, Its climate and Its nat
ural resources.
I am also concerned because if tho
they are all honest, c,lcan gentlemen
In so far as I know. But there Is an
added asset we need right now In a
mayor and that Is what our Oregon
foot hall team has, "the punch"
tho purpose, hacked up by an honest
and successful business experience
east and west which will enable him
to lead Medford to what belongs to
her an acute cashing In on her won
derful resources, agriculture, horti
culture, timber, mineral, etc., and not
allow her to continue to give a cor
rect Imitation of a somnambulist In
an eternal trance. Therefore I would
urge all voters to voto for Mr. Gates.
As regards tho so-called Hanson'
and Medynskl solutions of our pres
ent municipal bonded Indebtedness
every citizen who has road our news
papers, attended the mass meetings,
and used about one and one-half
drams of clear thinking should be as
sured of ono simple fact, namely,
'that Mr. Hansen has had years of ex
perience In solving such problems aB
confront us while Mr. Medynskl has
never solved any such problem any
where successfully. So let me urgo
every citizen in justice to himself
and to .Medford that if ho cannot ml-,
derstand the business like simplicity
of tho Hanson solution and the ruin
ation of financial Medford which the
Medynskl plan means, to trust in the
man of successful experience. ' That's
fair and reasonable, isn't it .
In conclusion I hope and believe
from the bottom of my heart that
Medford will elects mayor and settle
her financial problems sensibly and
clear headedly. If not, I'm forced1 to
move elsewhere and take It from me
it won't be a lonely exodus either.1 :
Respectfully yours,

KEEP LOOKING YOUNG
It's Easy If You Know Dr.
Edwards' Olive Tablets
The secret of keeping young is to
feci young to do this you must watch
your liver and bowels there's no need
of having a sallow complexion dark
rings under your eyes pimples a bil
ious look in your face dull eyes with
no sparkle. Vour doctor will tell you
ninety per cent of all sickness comes
from inactive bowels and liver.
Dr. Kdwards, a well-known physician
in Ohio, perfected a vegetable com
pound mixed with olive oil to act on
the liver and bowels, which he gave to
his patients for years.
Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets, the sub
stitute for calomel, arc gentle in their
action, yet always effective. They bring
about that exuberance of spirit, that
natural buoyancy which should be en
joyed hy everyone, by toning up the liver
aud clearing the system of impurities.
Vou will know Dr. Edwards' Olive
Tablets by their olive color. 10c and

I have Investigated the Medynski

been submitted to the people of Med

of the Hanson plan. It provides a
mothod for Medford to lift itself out
of tho financial difficulty that con
fronts it today without seriously bur
dening the citizens of Medford and it
does not Increase the city's Indebted
ness. If the Medynskl plan shall be
adopted by the votors of Medford
tho Indebtedness of Medford will be
increased many hundreds of thous
ands of dollars and I am unublo to
figure how this is going to benefit
our people. Tho tax rate will bo
nearly twice as much under tho
Medynskl plan as It will under tho
Hanson plan, and certainly every tax
payer must realize that his taxes are
as high as they ought to bo without
doubling them up as tho Me'dynski
plan certainly will do. Pluclng an
additional bonded Indebtedness of a

city, making a total bonded indebted

KEEP THE BALL A-ROLLING
Community enterprise is like a snowball. When all push together the work is
easy for each. Today is the day of the home town, "l'.ack to the 1 Tome Town"
is the slogan of the nation. The higeity is a self-confessed failure. It has failed
to provide for its own. It has shipwrecked humanity, lint there are no break
ers ahead of us. Tn our community all interests can unite. All we have to do is
to keep the ball in motion. It grows by itself if we only start it. Let's all take .
