Eight more days remain for motor
ists to prepare their headlights to
meet the requirements of the ordi
nance passed last Tuesday night by
the city council. This measure was
designed to eliminate the. nuisance of
blinding headlights. A cheap, but ef
fective method for meeting the re
quirements of the ordinance is sug
gested by Chief of Police Hlttson in
the painting of the lower half of the
headlight reflector with black paint.
Under the ordinance, bicycles,
wugons nnd other vehicles will be
compelled lo carry a light showing
red to the rear and white to tho
front during the hours of darkness.
